Investment property: The Bahamas

We act on the buyer's side: shortlist, checks, end-to-end deal support.

The Bahamas is a classic offshore resort market: Nassau, Paradise Island, the Exumas and Abaco. Foreigners can buy property freely - for most residential purchases a registration under the International Persons Landholding Act is sufficient. The market is also known for its immigration angle: a homeowner can obtain an annual homeowner's residence card, and a purchase above the government-set threshold gives grounds to apply for permanent economic residency - the threshold is revised from time to time, so the current figure should be checked at the time of the deal. The Bahamas has no income tax and no capital gains tax; the main one-off cost on purchase is stamp duty.

We source the property around your goal - a personal residence, rental, or an immigration objective - and run the deal by local rules: title verification through Bahamian attorneys, escrow and settlement support, registration and ownership structuring. If the goal is permanent residency, we structure the purchase to meet the program's requirements and handle the immigration side as well.

FAQ

Can a foreigner buy property in The Bahamas?
Yes, freely. For most residential purchases a registration under the International Persons Landholding Act is enough; a separate permit is only needed in limited cases such as large land parcels or commercial projects.
Does buying property in The Bahamas give you residency?
Yes, this is one of the market's main advantages. A homeowner can obtain an annual homeowner's residence card, and a purchase above the government-set threshold gives grounds to apply for permanent economic residency. The threshold changes from time to time, so we verify the current figure before the deal.
Where do I start?
With your goal and budget: they determine the island, the property type and whether the purchase should be structured for residency. From there we shortlist properties, arrange title checks and close the deal with Bahamian attorneys.

Don’t want to figure this out alone?
