Legal grounds
The permit is issued for 1 year and can be renewed. After 10 years of residency, and sometimes after 7, investors can apply for citizenship.
Two routes to residence through investment
- Financial self-sufficiency. Proof of at least €40,000 for an adult and at least €10,000 for a child under 18, held in an Austrian or another major international bank. Permanent housing and health insurance are mandatory.
- Key manager. A managerial position in an Austrian company with income from €2500 a month. Housing and health insurance are required here too.
