FAQ

How much income do I need for the Spain nomad visa?
At least 2,849 euro a month. The threshold is tied to the minimum wage: 200% of the 2026 annual SMI (1,221 euro x 14 payments = 17,094 euro a year, doubled to 34,188 euro). Since the SMI is revised regularly, the bar moves with it.
Can I work for a Spanish company on this visa?
The visa is designed for people employed by, or contracting with, companies outside Spain. A Spanish employer as your main source of income does not fit, and self-employed applicants may only take a limited share of local clients. We check how your setup fits during the consultation.
How long is the Spanish digital nomad visa valid?
One or three years, with renewal. The length depends on whether you apply at a consulate from abroad or from inside Spain. It is extended as long as you still meet the income and employment conditions.
What tax do digital nomads pay in Spain?
The special regime applies a flat 24% income tax instead of the progressive scale. The regime comes with conditions and caps, and some types of income are treated differently. The final number depends on how your income is structured, so it is calculated case by case.
Can I bring my family on the nomad visa?
Yes, a spouse or partner and children can apply together with the main applicant. Each dependant requires extra income on top of the base threshold, and the amount grows with family size. We calculate the exact figure for your family on the consultation.
