A company with foreign capital is set up in roughly two working weeks. Once the constitutional documents are issued, the investor KITAS starts - that is around another two weeks. So if everything goes smoothly, about a month.

A KITAS is the Indonesian temporary residence permit. The investor KITAS is issued for 2 years and is tied to your stake in a local company. It gives you the right to live in the country legally and run your company's business.

At least two: a director and a commissioner. You can split the roles with a partner or cover the second position by a separate arrangement. On a free consultation we will work out how to set this up in your case.

At the start a virtual registered address is enough, and it is valid for 1 year. After that you renew it or switch to a permanent one once you have real premises. For the investor KITAS this is usually sufficient.

The cost is made up of the company registration, the share capital, the registered address and the KITAS fees. The total depends on your line of business and company structure, so we quote a figure after reviewing your situation. Capital requirements and fee levels are revised from time to time - check the current numbers before you start.

You are treated as a resident if you live in Indonesia, spend more than 183 days there within any 12 months, or arrive during the financial year intending to stay. Meeting any one of these is enough. It is worth counting the days in advance so that residency does not start by accident.
