Best time to visit Vientiane?

November to February is the comfortable window, dry and less humid. March and April are the hottest months, and the region often fills with haze from agricultural burning. May to October is the rainy season, usually short heavy downpours rather than all-day rain.

How many days do you need in Vientiane?

One or two days cover Pha That Luang, Patuxai, Wat Sisaket, the National Museum and the COPE visitor centre. The city is low-rise and quiet, and life moves visibly slower than in Bangkok or Hanoi. Many travellers treat it as a stop on the way to Luang Prabang or Vang Vieng.

Is Laos cheap?
