Best time to visit Lomé?

It is hot and humid all year, so the question is rain, not temperature. November to February is the driest and most predictable stretch, though harmattan dust can haze the sky. The heaviest rains usually fall between April and July.

How many days do you need in Lomé?

One or two days cover the Grand Marché, the fetish market at Akodessewa, Sacré-Coeur cathedral, the national museum and the beachfront. Lomé works best as a base for trips inland to Kpalimé, Togoville and the plateau villages. The city runs in French, and English will not get you far.

Is Lomé safe?

Daytime in the centre is usually fine, but street theft and muggings are a genuine risk, especially around markets and after dark. The city beach is not a place to walk at night. Keep your phone and valuables out of sight and take a taxi instead of walking once it is dark.
