May to September is mild and green, ideal for walking the Bock casemates and the Grund. Winter is grey and damp, though the old town's Christmas market makes up for some of it. Rain is possible in any season, so bring a jacket even in July.

How many days do you need in Luxembourg?

One or two days cover the Bock casemates, Notre-Dame cathedral, the Grand Ducal Palace, the Grund and MUDAM. The country is tiny, so a second or third day easily reaches Vianden, Echternach or the Moselle valley. Public transport nationwide is free, which makes those trips painless.
