Best time to visit Managua?

The dry season from November to April is the easy window, with passable roads and almost no rain. May to October brings showers, usually short and in the afternoon. It is hot all year and especially so in March and April.

What is there to see in Managua?

The 1972 earthquake destroyed the old core, so there is no conventional historic centre. A day covers the Malecón, the ruined old cathedral, the Santo Domingo cathedral, the Palacio Nacional de la Cultura and the revolution museum. Most travellers treat Managua as an arrival point and move on to Granada, León or Ometepe.
