How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

Lisbon is no longer the cheap option. A one-bedroom in a decent neighbourhood runs around 1000-1500 euros a month, and rent is the line item that decides your budget. Groceries, transport, coffee and lunches are still clearly cheaper than in Paris or Amsterdam, and the total swings a lot depending on whether you live central or out on a train line.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

May to June and September to October are ideal: 22-27 degrees, little rain and shorter queues in Belem. July and August are hot and very crowded, while June brings the Santo Antonio street festivals. Winter is mild at about 15 degrees but windy and wet.

Is Lisbon safe?
