The dry season runs roughly November to April: less rain, calmer seas and the highest prices. May to October brings the southwest monsoon with squalls and wind, and much cheaper rooms. Temperatures barely move, hovering around 30C all year.

Most people see it between flights or on the way to a resort or a local island. The airport is linked to the city by bridge, so the transfer takes minutes.
