Business accounts: Anguilla

An honest assessment before work starts, the quote is fixed in writing.

We assess your chances against your profile, prepare the compliance file, help you present your source of funds properly and handle communication with the bank until it decides. The final decision always rests with the bank, so no one can guarantee an opening - careful preparation simply improves the odds.

We quote the exact cost for this country after a short consultation: it depends on the bank and your residency. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

FAQ

Can I open a bank account for a company in Anguilla?
Anguilla's local banking sector is tiny and, after the 2016 banking crisis, serves mainly the domestic economy. Opening an account there for an offshore company with foreign owners is close to impossible. In practice the company is registered in Anguilla and banked somewhere else.
Where do Anguilla companies bank?
Usually with banks or licensed payment institutions elsewhere - Europe, the Middle East, Asia, or Caribbean banks that serve international clients. Many use regulated EMIs as the working solution for payments. An Anguilla company is still treated as higher risk, so compliance will be thorough.
What documents does a bank want from an Anguilla company?
Registers of directors and shareholders, the ownership chain down to a real person, a description of the business and its counterparties, and proof of where the capital came from. A certificate of good standing and evidence of actual trading are normally required. An empty shell with no operations and no link to a real business is rarely accepted.
Does an Anguilla company need a local director?
The law does not require a resident director. A registered agent in Anguilla is mandatory, and all filings go through them. For a bank, though, having no real footprint in any country is a minus, not a selling point.
