Business accounts: Australia

An honest assessment before work starts, the quote is fixed in writing.

We assess your chances against your profile, prepare the compliance file, help you present your source of funds properly and handle communication with the bank until it decides. The final decision always rests with the bank, so no one can guarantee an opening - careful preparation simply improves the odds.

We quote the exact cost for this country after a short consultation: it depends on the bank and your residency. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

FAQ

Can a foreign company open a bank account in Australia?
Australian banks mainly serve companies registered in Australia that hold an ABN. A foreign entity with no local registration or branch is almost always declined. The usual route is to incorporate an Australian Pty Ltd and bank in its name.
Do I need an Australian resident director?
Yes - an Australian proprietary company must have at least one director who ordinarily resides in Australia. Every director also needs a Director ID. This is a legal requirement, not a bank preference.
What do I need for a business bank account in Australia?
The company's ACN and ABN, constitutional documents, details of directors and beneficial owners, and identity verification for the signatories. Banks use the 100 points ID check, usually in a branch. Non-resident signatories face additional verification.
Can I open an Australian business account remotely?
You can often start the application online, but activating the account requires identity verification, and for non-residents that normally means attending in person. Practice differs between banks. Do not count on a fully remote setup for a foreign-controlled structure.
