Can I get a bank account for a Seychelles company?
Incorporating is easy; getting a local bank account is not. Banks have cut back hard on non-resident structures, and most such companies end up on payment platforms or at banks elsewhere. Company formation agents rarely mention this.
Does the company need a link to Seychelles?
No resident director is required by law, but the bank wants to know why the account belongs here. Real activity on the islands - tourism, services, maritime - changes the answer; a pure offshore shell is usually declined.
What does compliance ask for?
Beneficial ownership, source of capital, contracts and invoices, the company's tax residence and evidence of economic substance. Lack of substance is the single biggest reason applications fail.
What is the alternative to a Seychelles account?
Most owners use an EU EMI with an IBAN, or a bank in a country where the business has a genuine link. Bear in mind that third-country banks are also wary of Seychelles entities, so design the structure before you incorporate.
