Business accounts: Slovakia

An honest assessment before work starts, the quote is fixed in writing.

We assess your chances against your profile, prepare the compliance file, help you present your source of funds properly and handle communication with the bank until it decides. The final decision always rests with the bank, so no one can guarantee an opening - careful preparation simply improves the odds.

We quote the exact cost for this country after a short consultation: it depends on the bank and your residency. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

Prices are indicative and cover our work on a typical case. We confirm the exact quote in writing after a short call - you know the final number before we start. Government fees and bank tariffs are billed separately unless explicitly included.

FAQ

Can a foreign owner open an account for a Slovak s.r.o.?
Yes, it is a common setup, but the bank will test why the account belongs in Slovakia. You will need the commercial register extract, articles, tax number and beneficial ownership details. Foreign-owned companies go through a longer review.
Do I need a Slovak resident director?
The law does not require one. In practice a director from a third country means tougher compliance, and some banks simply decline such files. A local address, staff and Slovak counterparties improve your odds.
Do I have to travel to Slovakia?
Usually yes - the director signs at the branch, or signatures are notarised and then verified by the bank. Not every bank accepts a power of attorney, and it must be apostilled and translated.
What if the bank refuses the account?
Refusals are not explained, so the usual move is another bank with a different risk appetite, plus a clearer business description and proof of turnover. An EU payment institution with an IBAN bridges the gap, but VAT handling, credit and state payments run more smoothly through a Slovak bank.
