Business accounts: United Kingdom

An honest assessment before work starts, the quote is fixed in writing.

We assess your chances against your profile, prepare the compliance file, help you present your source of funds properly and handle communication with the bank until it decides. The final decision always rests with the bank, so no one can guarantee an opening - careful preparation simply improves the odds.

We quote the exact cost for this country after a short consultation: it depends on the bank and your residency. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

FAQ

Can a non-resident open a UK business bank account?
Registering a Ltd is open to non-residents, but the account is a separate hurdle. High street banks generally want a UK-resident director and real activity in the country, so many non-resident companies start with an e-money provider issuing GBP and EUR details.
Do I need a UK resident director?
Not by law - a UK company can have only non-resident directors. In practice most traditional banks want at least one signatory living in the UK with a local address, and that is where applications usually stall.
How long does it take to open a UK business account?
Fintech onboarding can take days; a traditional bank typically takes weeks, longer with layered ownership or a higher risk sector. Incomplete documents are the main cause of delay.
Can I use an EMI instead of a bank?
Yes, and many non-resident companies do. You get GBP and EUR payment details quickly, but you lose credit facilities, some sectors are refused outright, and funds with an EMI are safeguarded rather than covered by FSCS deposit protection.
