Personal accounts: United Kingdom

An honest assessment before work starts, the quote is fixed in writing.

We assess your chances against your profile, prepare the compliance file, help you present your source of funds properly and handle communication with the bank until it decides. The final decision always rests with the bank, so no one can guarantee an opening - careful preparation simply improves the odds.

We quote the exact cost for this country after a short consultation: it depends on the bank and your residency. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

FAQ

Can I open a UK bank account without living in the UK?
It is hard. Ordinary current accounts need UK proof of address, so realistic options are the international or premium arms of banks, which come with high balance thresholds, or app-based providers with functional limits.
What counts as proof of address?
A passport plus a recent document tying you to a UK address: tenancy agreement, utility bill, council tax letter or bank statement, usually no older than three months. Not every bank accepts printed online statements, so check the list first.
Is there a minimum balance for non-residents?
Standard resident current accounts often have no minimum at all. Non-resident and international packages are the opposite and typically require a substantial balance or a monthly fee set by the bank.
Does the UK report my account under CRS?
Yes. The UK exchanges account information with your country of tax residence. Interest paid to a non-resident may also be taxed under UK rules or reduced by a double tax treaty, so check both sides.
