The threshold was set by an interministerial decree in April 2024 and equals three times the minimum income for exemption from healthcare cost sharing. Moving with family raises the bar: €34,087 per year with a spouse, plus €1,550 per year for each child.

There is no separate savings requirement, but you will need health insurance with coverage of at least €30,000.
