Business accounts: Italy

An honest assessment before work starts, the quote is fixed in writing.

We assess your chances against your profile, prepare the compliance file, help you present your source of funds properly and handle communication with the bank until it decides. The final decision always rests with the bank, so no one can guarantee an opening - careful preparation simply improves the odds.

We quote the exact cost for this country after a short consultation: it depends on the bank and your residency. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

FAQ

Can a foreigner open a bank account for an Italian company?
Yes, provided the SRL or branch is registered, listed in the Registro Imprese, has a partita IVA and an appointed legal representative. The representative needs an Italian codice fiscale. The bank will still assess the business model and its link to Italy.
Do I need a bank account to pay in the share capital?
Share capital is paid in under the rules for the chosen company form, and the account is often opened after the notarial deed. Agree the sequence with your notary and accountant before you start.
How long does it take to open a corporate account in Italy?
From a couple of weeks with a complete file and a representative who comes in person. Foreign ownership structures trigger extra compliance questions and stretch the timeline.
Do I have to visit the branch in Italy?
In most banks yes, the legal representative signs in person. Some online banks and EMIs issue an IBAN remotely, but a traditional bank is more practical for VAT and social contributions.
