Taxes in Namibia
The key points of the Namibian tax system for individuals and businesses.
Namibia applies a progressive personal income tax scale, a flat rate of profit tax for companies and a separate withholding tax on dividends paid to non-residents.
Main rates
Personal income tax is charged on a progressive scale from 0% to 37%. Corporate profit tax is 32%. The standard VAT rate is 15%.
Tax on dividends paid to non-residents
Dividends declared by a Namibian company in favor of a non-resident are subject to non-resident shareholders tax (NRST). The standard NRST rate is 10% if the recipient holds more than 25% of the shares in the Namibian company. In all other cases the NRST rate is 20%. The rate can be reduced if Namibia has a double taxation agreement (DTA) in place.
