The Malaysia Tech Entrepreneur Programme (MTEP) was created for foreign entrepreneurs who want to build innovative businesses in Malaysia. The main requirements are:

  • An innovative project. The startup has to be technology-driven, distinctive and contribute to the growth of the economy.
  • Financial standing. You need to show funds to keep the business running - from RM 50,000 for first-time entrepreneurs.
  • Company registration. The business must be registered in Malaysia within 6 months of receiving the visa.
  • Immigration requirements. Filing all the required documents, including a police clearance certificate.
  • A maximum of 2 co-founders per company is allowed.
