Personal accounts: Antigua and Barbuda

An honest assessment before work starts, the quote is fixed in writing.

We assess your chances against your profile, prepare the compliance file, help you present your source of funds properly and handle communication with the bank until it decides. The final decision always rests with the bank, so no one can guarantee an opening - careful preparation simply improves the odds.

We quote the exact cost for this country after a short consultation: it depends on the bank and your residency. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

FAQ

Can a non-resident open a bank account in Antigua?
Yes, but the bank will want a full document set, references and a clear reason for the account. It is easier if you have a link to the island - property, citizenship by investment or a business. A foreign passport with no history behind it is a weak application.
Does Antigua citizenship by investment come with a bank account?
No. The investment passport and a bank account are two separate processes, and the bank runs its own checks. Citizenship makes the conversation easier but does not replace compliance or guarantee approval.
How do I prove source of funds to a bank in Antigua?
With documents that show where the money came from: income statements, tax returns, asset sale agreements, dividend or inheritance paperwork. A verbal explanation is not enough, the bank needs a paper trail. Funds with unclear origins will not be accepted.
Does Antigua report accounts under CRS?
Yes. There is no personal income tax in the country, but accounts still fall under the automatic exchange of information. Balances and income are reported to your country of tax residence, and you file at home under your own rules.
