Denmark startup residence permit
The Startup Denmark program for entrepreneurs with an innovative business idea. Access to the EU market, support for startups and visa-free travel in Schengen.
Denmark has one of the most innovative economies in the world: a high standard of living, excellent infrastructure and active support for startups. The Startup Denmark program lets entrepreneurs with an original idea launch a business in the country and obtain a residence permit.
Legal grounds
The Startup Denmark program is aimed at foreign entrepreneurs who want to open and grow an innovative company in Denmark. Several conditions have to be met to obtain the residence permit.
- An innovative idea. The project has to be original and aimed at the international market.
- Approval by the expert panel. The business plan has to be approved by an independent expert panel.
- Company registration. The startup is registered in Denmark once approval is granted.
- Financial standing. You need to show funds to live on - at least DKK 138,648 for the year. If the residence permit also covers your family, you have to prove you can support them too.
- A clean immigration record. You will need a certificate of no criminal record and the other standard documents.
- Personal involvement in the business. The applicant has to take an active part in running it - their presence has to be essential to the company's work. A purely financial interest, such as being a shareholder, does not qualify.
During the free consultation we will look at your project and tell you honestly whether Startup Denmark suits you.
