Denmark is one of Europe's most closed markets for foreign buyers, and it is more honest to say so upfront. Non-residents, including EU citizens who do not live in the country, need permission from the Ministry of Justice to buy property, and without a genuine connection to Denmark - work, business, relocation - it is generally not granted. Summer houses near the coast are protected especially strictly: Denmark kept a special exemption in EU law, and buying a holiday home as a foreigner is practically impossible. There are no residency or citizenship programs through real estate. As a pure investment destination for a non-resident, the Danish market is effectively inaccessible - it makes sense for those moving to the country for work, study or family reasons.
We help those who already have a basis or are acquiring one: job relocation, starting a business, family reunification. In that case we support the home purchase from choosing the area and checking the property through to the transaction and registration, including the Ministry of Justice permission application where required. If your goal is real estate investment without relocating, we will say it straight: Denmark is not the right fit, and we will suggest jurisdictions where the same goal can be achieved without artificial barriers.
