When is the best time to visit Barcelona?

May to June and September to October: warm weather, swimmable sea and far fewer crowds than August. August is hot, humid and packed, and plenty of local businesses close for holidays. Winter is mild but too cold for the beach.

How many days do you need in Barcelona?

Four days cover the Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, the Gothic Quarter, Casa Batllo and a couple of museums. Gaudi sites sell out well ahead, so book time slots weeks in advance. A fifth day works nicely for Montserrat or Girona.

Is Barcelona safe?
