Business accounts: Tajikistan

An honest assessment before work starts, the quote is fixed in writing.

We assess your chances against your profile, prepare the compliance file, help you present your source of funds properly and handle communication with the bank until it decides. The final decision always rests with the bank, so no one can guarantee an opening - careful preparation simply improves the odds.

We quote the exact cost for this country after a short consultation: it depends on the bank and your residency. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

FAQ

Can a foreigner open a company account in Tajikistan?
Yes. Once the entity is registered, opening an account at a local bank is a standard step for doing business inside the country. You need founding documents, tax registration and a personal visit by the director or an authorised signatory.
Is Tajikistan good for international payments?
No. The correspondent banking network is thin, and dollar or euro payments travel through intermediaries with delays and extra screening. Nobody treats this jurisdiction as a serious hub for cross-border settlement.
Do I need a resident director in Tajikistan?
Director residency is generally not required, but you do need a local registered address and someone able to deal with the bank and the tax office in person. Without that, routine account servicing gets stuck on formalities.
What does compliance ask for at Tajik banks?
Banks look at founders and beneficial owners, the type of business, counterparties and source of funds. Extra questions also come from correspondent banks abroad, and their refusal can stop a payment even after the local bank has accepted it.
