Personal accounts: Marshall Islands

An honest assessment before work starts, the quote is fixed in writing.

We assess your chances against your profile, prepare the compliance file, help you present your source of funds properly and handle communication with the bank until it decides. The final decision always rests with the bank, so no one can guarantee an opening - careful preparation simply improves the odds.

We quote the exact cost for this country after a short consultation: it depends on the bank and your residency. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

FAQ

Can a non resident open a personal account in the Marshall Islands?
Realistically no. There are only a handful of banks, they serve residents and local workers, and there is no remote onboarding for foreigners. If you need a USD account, other jurisdictions are a far more practical route.
Do I need residency to bank in the Marshall Islands?
In practice yes - banks work with people who live and earn income on the islands. Registering a company in the local registry gives you no right to a personal account and is not seen by the bank as a genuine link to the country.
Does the Marshall Islands report under CRS?
Yes, the country takes part in international exchange of tax information, and companies are subject to economic substance and reporting rules. Do not count on secrecy: any bank will ask for your tax residence and report your balances to that country under CRS.
Where should the owner of a Marshall Islands company keep a personal account?
Usually in your country of tax residence or wherever you actually live and can prove an address and income. Keep personal and company money apart - mixing them is the fastest way to trigger questions and account freezes. Be ready to document dividends coming out of an offshore company.
