Personal accounts: Turkmenistan

An honest assessment before work starts, the quote is fixed in writing.

We assess your chances against your profile, prepare the compliance file, help you present your source of funds properly and handle communication with the bank until it decides. The final decision always rests with the bank, so no one can guarantee an opening - careful preparation simply improves the odds.

We quote the exact cost for this country after a short consultation: it depends on the bank and your residency. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

Prices are indicative and cover our work on a typical case. We confirm the exact quote in writing after a short call - you know the final number before we start. Government fees and bank tariffs are billed separately unless explicitly included.

FAQ

Can a foreigner open a bank account in Turkmenistan?
Only with legal status in the country - a work permit, residence or similar basis - and a complete document set. Tourists are not onboarded.
Do I have to show up in person?
Yes. Remote onboarding does not exist here; expect a branch visit with originals and, in many cases, notarised translations.
Can I send money abroad from a Turkmen account?
Not freely. Conversion and outbound transfers are restricted, and locally issued cards often fail abroad or carry tight limits. Treat the account as a local settlement tool only.
Is Turkmenistan part of CRS?
Turkmenistan is not among the jurisdictions exchanging account data under CRS. That does not remove your duty to declare foreign accounts where you are tax resident.
