The Digital Nomad Programme (running since 1 July 2023) lets remote IT and marketing professionals live in the Czech Republic while working for foreign clients. Only citizens of 12 countries can apply.
Visa requirements
Since 1 July 2023 the Czech Republic has run an official Digital Nomad Programme - with a strict passport filter. Only citizens of 12 countries can apply: the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Brazil, Israel, Mexico and Singapore - and only IT and marketing professionals.
The visa is issued for up to one year and can be extended to 2 years. There are two financial requirements: income from ~CZK 69,800 per month (~€2,800) - 1.5× the Czech average salary - and at least CZK 156,500 (~€6,300) in your bank account, calculated as 50× the existential minimum (CZK 3,130 since 01.01.2023).
Taxes
Personal income tax in the Czech Republic ranges from 15% to 23% depending on income.
Cost of living
A family of four spends around €2,300 per month excluding rent. For one person it is roughly €700 per month without rent. A one-bedroom apartment in the city centre costs about €700 per month.
