Nevis is the smaller of the two islands of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis, known for two things at once: the world's oldest citizenship-by-investment programme, running since 1984, and a reputation as an offshore centre for trusts and LLCs. Foreigners can buy property - an alien landholding licence is generally required, and a purchase in a government-approved project from $400,000 can form the basis of a citizenship application to the federation. The market itself is a small resort one: villas, hotel-branded residences and development plots.
