Norway is a mature, transparent and expensive market centered on Oslo and the other major cities. Foreigners need no special permits to buy most types of property: residential apartments and houses are available to non-residents on essentially the same terms as to Norwegians, with restrictions applying mainly to agricultural land under the concession regime. What matters most to understand is this: Norway has no residency or citizenship program tied to real estate and never has. Buying a home does not grant the right to live in the country - that requires the usual grounds such as work, study or family. This is a market for investors who value legal predictability and accept high prices, high taxes and the currency risk of the krone.
Our work starts with the purpose: personal use, rental or a conservative placement of capital. From there we shortlist properties, verify title and encumbrances, manage the transaction together with local lawyers and banks, and think through the ownership structure with Norwegian property and income taxes in mind. If what you really want is a status in Norway, we will say honestly that real estate does not solve it, and help you assess the actual immigration options separately.
