Personal accounts: Nevis

An honest assessment before work starts, the quote is fixed in writing.

We assess your chances against your profile, prepare the compliance file, help you present your source of funds properly and handle communication with the bank until it decides. The final decision always rests with the bank, so no one can guarantee an opening - careful preparation simply improves the odds.

We quote the exact cost for this country after a short consultation: it depends on the bank and your residency. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

FAQ

Can a non-resident open a personal account in Nevis?
Formally yes, banks in Saint Kitts and Nevis do take foreign clients, but the review is strict and slow. Expect a passport, proof of address, references and a clear explanation of where your money comes from. Some banks insist on a visit or a video interview.
Do I need residency or citizenship to bank in Nevis?
No, the account is not tied to your immigration status. Investors who came through the citizenship by investment programme usually have an easier time, because the source of funds has already been vetted and there is a link to the country. Citizenship alone still guarantees nothing.
Is there a minimum balance for a Nevis bank account?
Minimum balances and maintenance fees for non-residents are close to universal, and each bank sets and revises its own figures. Budget for the cost of holding the account and moving money, not just for opening it - on small balances an offshore account rarely pays for itself.
Are Nevis accounts reported under CRS?
Yes. Saint Kitts and Nevis participates in CRS, so information on non-resident accounts goes to the holder's country of tax residence. The idea that a Caribbean account is invisible to your tax office is about a decade out of date.
