Business accounts: Liechtenstein

An honest assessment before work starts, the quote is fixed in writing.

We assess your chances against your profile, prepare the compliance file, help you present your source of funds properly and handle communication with the bank until it decides. The final decision always rests with the bank, so no one can guarantee an opening - careful preparation simply improves the odds.

We quote the exact cost for this country after a short consultation: it depends on the bank and your residency. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

FAQ

Can a company open an account in Liechtenstein?
Yes, banks serve companies, but selection is strict and geared to wealthy clients and capital structures. A small trading business with high payment volumes is generally not the target client. Expect questions about the origin of the capital and why Liechtenstein specifically.
Do banks there take foundations and trusts?
Yes, servicing foundations, trusts and family structures is a traditional strength of the jurisdiction. The bank will review the founding documents, the settlor, the beneficiaries and who actually controls decisions. A structure with no clear purpose or opaque control will not be accepted.
What does compliance look at in Liechtenstein?
Source of wealth as a whole, not just the incoming payment: how the capital was built, through which deals, with what tax history. Politically exposed persons, sanctions links and counterparty jurisdictions get separate attention. The review takes weeks, sometimes longer.
Do I need an introducer to open an account?
There is no formal requirement, but many banks prefer clients introduced by trusted advisers and trust companies. A cold application with no prepared file often goes unanswered. A good introducer saves time but guarantees nothing - the bank decides.
