Personal accounts: Dominica

An honest assessment before work starts, the quote is fixed in writing.

We assess your chances against your profile, prepare the compliance file, help you present your source of funds properly and handle communication with the bank until it decides. The final decision always rests with the bank, so no one can guarantee an opening - careful preparation simply improves the odds.

We quote the exact cost for this country after a short consultation: it depends on the bank and your residency. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

FAQ

Can a non-resident open a bank account in Dominica?
It is possible, but the choice of banks is narrow and the screening is thorough. Expect to provide a passport, proof of address, reference letters and a clear reason for banking here. Applications from non-residents with no local ties are frequently declined.
Does a Dominica passport get me a local bank account?
No. Citizenship by investment does not oblige any bank to onboard you, and these clients get enhanced due diligence precisely because the passport came through a programme. The bank looks separately at where you actually live, your source of funds and your tax residence.
Is there a minimum balance for a Dominica account?
Most banks set an opening amount and a monthly maintenance fee, and both are higher for non-residents than for locals. Exact figures vary by bank and change over time, so confirm them when you apply. Falling below the threshold means higher charges.
Does Dominica report under CRS?
Yes, Dominica takes part in automatic exchange of information under CRS. The bank collects a tax residence self-certification and your account data is reported to your home jurisdiction. Holding a Dominica passport does not by itself change your tax residence.
